Ended up going for a mid-afternoon bike ride to pick something up and getting another soft reminder the time did in fact change. It was definitely about as close to dark as could be without absolutely needing a headlight when I got home.
This sunset fell behind me giving off an intense golden light for a good half hour. Finally I had to pull over and attempt a photo. My phone is old and failed to capture the full majesty.
I’m going to laugh if someone pips up in the comments with the correct vehicle. This place can be pretty amazing sometimes.

Me yesterday: I can get in a nice ride this afternoon, now that I spent the day cleaning up from Halloween.
Me also at 4:25: Shit! f orgot about the time change. I’d better hurry if I want to get home before sundown! ( I did).

It’s light until 10 PM here in the Summer. Then the last remnants of pale grey that pose as daylight fully fade by 4:30 most of the Winter.

Nope, this car has a much quieter exhaust note.

Funny you mentioned that as a half mile beforehand a Mustang did pass me and I had those exact thoughts about mortal danger. They were very polite drivers with very loud exhaust.

Very nice sunset here today also — I left work and drove off into.

This had to be related to a flare up in fires in CO or CA. Instead of fading sunlight everything was tinged gold.

Right, I think the rather colorful sunsets we’ve had here in Chicago lately are probably related too. Lots of purple and pink in a cloudless sky.

I utilized the time change to bike ride in the morning. Was nice to do a 6-8 ride before work . Nobody else at all on the trail. I've gotta do that more often! Although waking up at 0530 is hard!

Never been able to regularly do something like that before work without it being crucial to traveling there. Every great once in awhile when things line up it’s pretty great though.
